SNAKES ALIVE! UMA'S SERPENT SURPRISE

Talk about a hair-raising experience: When UMA THURMAN signed to star in the upcoming flick “Percy Jackson and The Olympians” as Medusa – the mythological snake-haired goddess who turned men to stone with her stare – producers assured her that the squirming live serpents nesting in her ’do would be added by Special Effects geeks.

But that didn’t deter director CHRIS COLUMBUS (no, seriously, Chris Columbus!) from asking her to give her all for art – and actually experience the real-deal feel of slimy slitherers crawling over her skin. (Even for Hollywood, that is SICK!)

Amazingly, Uma agreed…so during rehearsals, a huge box of live, presumably non-poisonous snakes were brought to the set, and good trouper Uma let them crawl...Shrieeek!...all over her slinky bod.

She later told pals it was “so creepy!” DUH!
