Heartbroken Kate Gosselin is reeling after losing her married bodyguard, Steve Neild.
The hunk, 51, has quit his job as her bodyguard and returned home to his wife, Gina, and their two sons, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.
“Gina used every trick in the book to keep Steve from straying and it worked!” disclosed an insider. A neighbor added: “Gina’s lightened her hair and exercised, and she looks like she’s in the best shape of her life.”
Gina then gave him an ultimatum, say sources. “She told him his time with Kate as her bodyguard was making the family miserable and that he had to make a choice,” said the neighbor. “So he made the decision to spend quality time with his family this summer.”
What’s more, The ENQUIRER has learned Steve has turned his back on Kate for good: He recently started a new job as Executive Vice President of security firm Prudential Associates in Rockville, Md.
An ENQUIRER photographer snapped him on July 24, and although he has reconciled with Gina, the burly silver fox wasn’t wearing his wedding ring.
Now with Steve back home in Maryland, Kate is the odd person out! He had become a fixture at her Wernersville, Pa., home following her 2009 divorce. “Kate and Steve no longer have any communication,” revealed a close source.
“Kate understands she was perceived as the ‘other woman,’ but she enjoyed his company,” revealed a close source.
A clear sign of Steve’s change of heart came when Gina recently posted a photo of their brood on Facebook, boasting they are “the perfect family.”
