‘Come Back To Daniel’

As FAITH Hill and TIM MCGRAW'S marital woes continue to rage, one person from Faith’s past is eager to offer an escape route, The National ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

The “Breathe” singer’s former mother-in-law has confided that seeing Faith, 47, reunite with her son Daniel Hill would be a dream come true.

“Of course [I wished they stayed together],” Carolyn Hill told The ENQUIRER. Her son, a music publishing executive, married Faith in 1988 when she was just another wannabe singer in Nashville.

They split after five years. Citing irreconcilable differences, Faith had to pay her ex royalties for her 1993 album, but it seemed she was willing to give up anything to get out of the union.

“I was going through so much. I was like a flower trying to bud,” the singer has said. “Marriage wasn’t what I needed. It was a disguise.”

Carolyn, however, put the blame for the failed marriage squarely on Faith. “She left. She was on her way out [of the marriage],” Carolyn explained.

While Carolyn added the divorce was “mutual,” the toll it took on her family was deeply felt: “We were unhappy. She was loved. It was heartbreaking.”

Despite her desire to see her son and Faith stay together forever, Carolyn said she hasn’t spoken to Faith in many years.

“I’ve spoken to her one time, but after that we had no business talking,” she said. “She was a good friend … I had hoped it wasn’t true [when they divorced].”

Daniel has never remarried, his mom added.

But Faith moved on, marrying Tim, 48, in 1996. They have three daughters. The couple’s 2006 Soul2Soul II Tour remains the second highest-grossing country music tour of all time, and the pair is worth a reported $145 million.

But as The ENQUIRER reported, Tim’s wandering eye has repeatedly tested Faith’s trust in him. He’s been spotted sans wedding ring, while pals have said Tim’s fed up with Faith’s controlling ways.
