The ENQUIRER is once again first!  Weeks ago, we said Brad Pitt would be signing up to do Quentin Tarantino's WW2 actioner Inglorious Bastards and now it's been confirmed by studio execs at Universal.

As we previously reported, Pulp Fiction helmer Tarantino jetted to France to meet with Fight Club star Pitt while Angie was in the hospital popping out wonder twins.

Brad really loved the script and will be starring as a Tennessee hillbilly who assembles a rag tag team of Jewish American soldiers behind enemy lines.

Shooting begins in Germany in October - not that far from the Jolie-Pitt compound at Chateau Mirval.

Tarantino hopes to have the film ready for next years Cannes film fest.
